Sunwarrior Protein Powder

Healthy Nutrition Tips

  • Every meal try to incorporate fresh/frozen fruit and veggies and/or green salad, and a lean protein source.
  • Eat healthy sources of fat!  (actually helps to burn fat, keep you full, and many other benefits)
    • Avacados, raw nuts, extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil
  • Vegetables and fruits are considered "free" foods - eat many varieties and colors! 1/2 of your plate should be filled with these.  (Try to limit the starchy veggies - white potatoes, corn)
  • Drink plenty of water - 1/2 your body weight in ounces is the goal of daily intake.
  • Avoid as many processed foods and chemicals as possible:
    • If you don't know what is in something or can't pronounce it on the ingredient list, you probably shouldn't consume it!  All foods are not "safe" to eat so increase your knowledge of what you are allowing to enter your body!
  • Replace foods with healthier alternatives and enjoy them!  Instead of playing the will power game of "I am not going to...(eat the cookie)" over and over again until you finally consume not only that one cookie but the whole darn bag, change your thought process to "I am not going to eat that cookie but I do get to eat an all natural chocolate milk shake!"
  • Prepare, plan, and  succeed! I try to prepare foods (cutting, washing, cooking, etc) on one day a week for a hour or two.
    • Have plenty of fruits, nuts, and cut up veggies to snack on.
    • When you make meals, prepare double the amount and freeze 1/2 for on the go days!
    • Cook plenty of ground turkey, and chicken (cubed or shredded) and freeze for quick dinner nights.
    • Make a giant  salad and spin in a salad spinner to remove excess water and it will keep most of the week.
